Three days, a few naps, couple finals, several projects and three plane rides later, I’ve finally touched-down in Istanbul!
FYI: if planning to visit Turkey from the U.S. you need a visa, luckily it’s an eVisa and only costs $20. Apply here
Words cannot explain how excited I am to be in this magical city and can’t wait to see what’s in store.
The cherry on top, is that I get to spend the next few days with my German brother (Bruder) before my six day intensive global citizenship program.
Tobias was a German exchange student during my senior year of high school. Joining the varsity soccer team, myself, and especially Kenny (whom he lived with most of the school year), were fortunate to get to meet Tobias before school even started, creating a brotherhood that’s lasting a lifetime! And winning the North Coast Section that year definitely helped solidify memories of a lifetime!
He has been a pilot for Lufthansa airlines for several years now, but more recently relocated to Istanbul, for work benefit reasons and long haul flight opportunities to to the U.S.A.
This will be my fourth time—I believe—visiting him across the pond, but the first time in Istanbul; let the adventure begin!
